ASHES
ongoing.
It is deeply humbling to be asked to create a piece to hold a loved one’s ashes. I believe death practices are sacred, and i’m honored to have made these vessels a part of my Salt Circle practice. If you would like to commission an ashes vessel, please reach out to me via email to begin a dialog about your loved one, and how we might collaborate to create something meaningful for you.

For the client’s mother. This was the first piece I made to hold ashes. (I included the sketch I sent her, in case anyone is curious about that part of the process.)

For the client’s husband. He was a woodworker, so the piece was designed to look like birch bark, with their initials carved in and a burl eye. The back has a starry sky and his hand holding the vessel in place.
